The Louisville Zoo hosts the “World’s Largest Halloween Party” each year. This party is great for families with young children. The celebration starts in September, and tickets go on sale in September. Children will enjoy walking through the zoo in costume and getting sweet treats from the workers! You’ll also love seeing the animals outside of the regular zoo hours.
New York, New York
The Village Halloween Parade is another Halloween tradition in NYC. Anyone can participate in this annual event if they wear a costume. You can also watch the parade from the street if you don’t wish to dress up. Croton-on-Hudson, a small town just a train journey away, is also a great option for Halloween festivities. The Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze is an event that celebrates Halloween in the town. It features amazing pumpkin carving art.
The classic Halloween costume of the witch is undoubtedly one of my favorites. You can visit Salem, Massachusetts to see creepy witches. This is where the witch trials actually took place in 1600. Haunted Happenings offers a variety of events and festivities throughout October. The festival lasts for a month and begins with a parade. It also includes ghost stories, psychic readings and fireworks on October 31st.
Universal City, California
It may seem like the most terrifying thing that could happen in Southern California is running out avocados for breakfast. Universal Studios Hollywood turns itself into a haunted park every Halloween season. From the middle of September through the beginning of November, the “Horror Nights” are held on selected dates. For some spooky nostalgia scares, you can also consider purchasing tickets for the “Throwback Wednesday” themed events.

Savannah is one of America’s most haunted cities. It is similar to Salem and is the oldest city in Georgia. A cemetery tour is a great Halloween activity that combines history and horror. Bonaventure Cemetery Tours are available all year, but it’s fitting that they offer a Halloween tour. You can join the “The Original Creepy Crawl Haunted Tavern Tour” if you want to continue the spooky celebrations all night.
